First, protect what is left.

  1. Stop saving new files to the affected USB drive. Do not copy software, downloads or recovered files onto it.
  2. Do not format, initialize or run repair commands as a first step. A prompt to format the drive is not a reason to accept it when the data matters.
  3. Check for an existing copy elsewhere. Look for backups or copies on another device without writing to the affected USB drive.
  4. Record what happened. Note the device type, Windows or Mac, how the files disappeared and any actions taken afterward. File contents and passwords are not needed in your booking notes.

When remote diagnosis may help.

A USB drive that is still detected by the computer may be a candidate when files were deleted or its file system appears damaged. A missing drive letter alone does not establish whether the device is detected at the hardware level.

Being detected is a starting point, not a recovery guarantee. The condition of the device and changes made after deletion affect what can be assessed and recovered.

Repeated disconnects, impact, water damage or other physical-failure signs? Stop repeated attempts. A physical recovery specialist may be needed. We do not provide laboratory recovery.

What to have ready.

A Windows PC or Mac, your affected USB drive and a brief description of the problem. If recovery proceeds, recovered files need a separate storage destination. Keep the original device out of regular use before the appointment.

You stay present during the remote session and can disconnect at any time. We explain the work before you approve it.

Free booking. A clear diagnostic fee.

Choose a time without paying. At the appointment, we provide payment instructions for the USD25 diagnostic fee. Diagnosis begins only after payment is confirmed.

The fee covers diagnosis even when remote recovery is not possible. If you approve the proposed recovery work, the full USD25 is credited toward the agreed final recovery fee. Recovery is not guaranteed.

You can cancel before diagnosis begins without a booking charge. Please give two days’ notice whenever possible. See our refund policy for payments already made.
